Blackened Whisky started as a collaboration between Master Distiller Dave Pickerell and Metallica, but when Dave passed away in 2018, Master Distiller Rob Dietrich joined the team in 2019 and now oversees the Blackened American Whiskey distilling process. Blade and Bow Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey uses a unique Solera System aging process to preserve some of the distillery’s oldest whiskey stocks. Aged in new charred American white oak barrels, this bourbon has a subtle aroma of fresh fruit and a taste that includes hints of dried apricot, ripe pear and a sweet roasted grain. The finish has notes of charred oak and warm winter spices.

The nose is quite thick and full. There is a beautiful sweetness with notes of toasty oak, toffee, spicy stewed fruits, a touch of resin and a lovely crème anglaise character. The palate is full and sublimely smooth with notes of stewed Bramley apples, malmsey, a touch of aniseed and a hint of spice. This 15 YO Straight Bourbon Whiskey has been finished in Jamaican pot still rum casks. On the nose: cornbread, cocoa nibs, tobacco leaf, and an abundance of maple syrup. The palate delivers dried apricot, and sandalwood, with a nutty richness and a finish of toasted coconut, holiday spice, and toasted oak.

Old Forester 1870 Original Batch was the first expression in the Old Forester Whiskey row series. Barrels have been selected from 3 warehouses, with each barrel originating from a different day of production. These barrels are batched together to craft this expression. On the aroma, clove notes lead way to citrus fruits and honeysuckle. On the palate: baking spices (clove, cinnamon and nutmeg), citrus fruit mix with a shortbread sweetness. Long finish.

Created in 1870, Old Forester is the only bourbon continuously distilled and marketed by the founding family before, during and after Prohibition. Strong floral aroma with hints of mint, rich tobacco leaf and vanilla. A touch of oak and pine unfurl on the palate which are balanced sweet corn, rye grain, spice, vanilla and orange notes.
