Bright ruby with a crimson hue. Ripe cherry and black plum fruit flavours supported with savoury oak char and spice. A medium bodied wine with supple tannins and a fleshy, silky texture. The fruit and savoury, game flavours are perfectly balanced and persist on the long, clean acid finish. Will age well with careful cellaring for 3 to 6 years. Great with game meats such as duck or venison.

Mid-straw, with a bright clarity. Vibrant white-currant, nettle, and gooseberry aromas, with a grapefruit core underpinned by some pungent herbaceous, jalapeño flavours. The palate is full and vibrant. Fresh nettle, gooseberry and tropical fruit flavours abound and linger on the long, clean acid finish. Summer salads, poultry and shellfish, such as Marlborough’s famous green-lipped mussels, lobster and white fish.

Yuri is the name of the local area of Honjo-shi and Masamune is an old term for Japanese sake. This sake is mellow and rustic and has a firm structure, its nutty and earthy notes are balanced by an underlying fruitiness.
