For a quarter of a century, casks of this rare expression of Old Pulteney Single Malt Scotch Whisky breathed the invigorating sea air of the Caithness coast. Aged firstly in American oak, its spicy sweetness was later granted depth and colour by casks of Spanish oak. Elegant and charismatic.

Clonal influences in the vineyard have been very important, providing smaller berries and enhanced flavour intensity. The result of all of this is a delicious Oyster Bay Marlborough Chardonnay with concentrated aromas and flavours of ripe citrus and stonefruit, balanced with subtle oak, and a creamy texture to finish.

Oyster Bay Sparkling Cuvée Brut is made from 100% Chardonnay grapes which give the wine elegance, finesse and minerality. We harvest the fruit early and use neutral yeasts to accentuate the Chardonnay varietal character. The lively bubbles in the wine are a result of natural secondary fermentation, which brings to life the delightful and refreshing character.

Colour: Golden Aroma: Distinguished rye spiciness, mingling with mellow oak, above a soft layer of vanilla. Flavour: Cascading pepper from the rye caressingly wrapped in mouth coating oily viscosity and sweet biscuity, cereal, and dried fruit notes.

This is a ripe and deeply coloured food wine, designed for early drinking but capable of cellaring for 3-5 years. Serve with hearty pastas, duck and New Zealand lamb.
